Gutters that drain directly against the foundation are one of the most common contributors to foundation water problems. We install underground downspout drainage — pipe buried below grade that carries roof runoff away from the house and outlets it safely away from the foundation. Serving Lufkin and surrounding Angelina County communities.

The Problem with Short Downspout Splash Blocks

A standard splash block at the base of a downspout redirects water only a foot or two from the house. During heavy rain, that water saturates the soil right next to the foundation — exactly where you don't want it. Over time, repeated saturation cycles can soften the backfill soil against the foundation and allow water to infiltrate the basement or crawl space. An underground drain pipe solves this by carrying the water completely away from the structure.

How Underground Downspout Drainage Is Installed

We connect a solid PVC pipe to the downspout at the base, bury it below grade with adequate slope (typically 1-2%), and route it to a daylight outlet at the edge of the property or a suitable discharge point. We select outlet locations that won't create new problems in other areas of the yard. The system is low-maintenance once installed and significantly reduces the water load against your foundation.
